I hate school drama.
I always tell my students that in 5 years it really won't matter.
But of course they don't listen.
They're 16 year olds with raging hormones.
A couple of different things are going on at school.
- This week there have been multiple fights, most stemming from the foolowing story: Girl gets pregnant from Boy. Girl gives birth. Boy then ditches her for Girl's sister's friend. So all the fights started with this drama and have spread like wildfires. Therefore, the administration has decided to elliminate study hall for the rest of the quarter and final exams are next week! grrrr.
- My student became addicted to drugs (not sure what kind) and started ditching class or sleeping thru class. He was hanging out with the bunch that was just a really bad influence. So then the mom finds out from my emails about his absences and it snowballs from there. He was going to go on leave to get back in shape and come back after spring break for a fresh start. Then he tells some therapist who supplied him with drugs and didn't sign a confidentiality agreement and the therapist tells the police and now the drug dealers have made death threats against my student, his parents, and his friends (one of whom is also my student). This is the story anyway. So since these students are military dependents (from the mainland) they get shipped off to whatever state for their safety. SO. SAD. So I wrote a letter of recommendation for my student that went thru all this for a boarding school he wanted to attend because he really was a good kid who just made the wrong decisions. I hope it works out for him. My other student (the first boy's friend), since he was in the group of making the same wrong choices, gets shipped off to California for his safety as well. Well, he still has my book! So I was hoping to get it back from the mom when she came to pick up his grades, but since i didn't fill out the textbook bill forms she refused to pay for it and claimed that her son never even got a book. So she's being this super bitch to the school since we "aren't protecting her son." Whatever. You never called me back or inquired why your son was failing before hand and now you want to be all bitchy about how we treat your son? He got into this mess on his own. grrr. I better get my book back...or at least the $65.52!
Too much drama!
